This is an interior image of Record Rendezvous, a Cleveland, Ohio
retail music store owned and operated by Leo Mintz. The myth started here. In 1951-52 some white teenagers danced, listened, and purchased
R & B music inside Record Rendezvous. This never happened. Carefully, study our image. First and formost, Record Rendezvous was a place of business. It was not a teenage hangout. Dancing? Where’s the room? There is none. Retail space was for selling merchandise not dancing.
Notice, Leo Mintz leaning against an open desk drawer.
